General Information
What it is:
This six part, twelve-hour series equips you with all you need to lead your own two-day Navigational Coaching workshops. During the sessions we will review all the key concepts presented in the program to give you a solid grounding of their meaning, nuance and application.
As a result of completing the six webinars you will become a Navigational Coaching Facilitator.
Who can qualify:
This series assumes an existing competence in group facilitation. Our focus is on understanding the key concepts of the program rather than how to facilitate. (We have a separate program on facilitation we offer in person.) We also assume you have taken some basic training in coaching, particularly coaching in the workplace.
How it works:
Webinars – seminars presented on the web – are second best to being in a room together. We borrow a lot of ideas from traditional seminars, such as breakouts, documenting group brainstorming, and PowerPoint slides. Using your computer and internet connection you sign into the “seminar room” where you can use your video camera to show yourself to others, open your mic to speak to the group, hear fellow students through your speakers, type onto the whiteboard, view presentations and much more. We use a webinar program called Blackboard (formerly Elluminate Live!).
What to expect:
The webinars are highly interactive and engaging. Just like in-person programs, you will be involved throughout the two hours in a variety of ways from small group breakout rooms to adding your voice to discussions. This is not like any passive conference call you may have experienced (and dreaded) in the past. We promise you will be busy for two hours.
Participants will join us from around the world. Our first webinar had facilitators from Iceland and the UK (whose local time was late in the evening) to New Zealand and Australia (who joined us first thing in their morning). Those of us in North America had afternoon course times. (Our classes run 1-3 pm Pacific Time)
After each class we send out two summaries: a PDF document of all the slides and notes from the webinar, including notes taken in breakout sessions; plus a link to a full recording of the webinar including all audio and visual elements so you can see and hear all that happened in the class (except the breakout room discussions).
We use the Navigational Coaching videos across our organization to support our leadership ... "
